Lawyers from ETERNIX, LLC participated in the event—a conference on antitrust law
It was a day of lively discussions on the future of competition law in Ukraine, featuring leading experts from the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine, representatives of the judiciary and the business community, as well as renowned international experts from the EU and the OECD (Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development).
The event’s program provided an in-depth analysis of current practices and the upcoming changes facing the business community.
The conference also focused on key—and at times painful—issues for businesses: practical challenges in obtaining approval for mergers in sensitive sectors, standards for antitrust investigations and safeguards for business rights, the scope and quality of judicial review of AMCU decisions, and the expectations of bona fide investors regarding the foreign investment screening system.
Much attention was devoted to current challenges related to the adaptation of Ukraine’s competition law system to EU standards and requirements; particular attention was given to Bill No. 12440, which provides for the expansion of investigative tools, the improvement of liability mechanisms, and the introduction of the institution of commitments.
